Huntsman Elite is the name of Razers new premium gaming keyboard and named after the giant crab spider successor of the Black Widow Chroma V2 has more than just innovations in design and features in stock.
Razer's Opto-Mechanical Switch makes its debut here, whose innovative technology, as the name suggests, combines optics and mechanics. The feeling that Razer's opto-mechanical key switch can be actuated very quickly, with only light pressure and short distances, is compounded by the fact that the Razer Opto-Mechanical Switch already triggers after 1.5 mm (0 ± 0.2 mm) and the total key stroke is 3.5 mm. Add to that a 45 cN (g) rather low trigger pressure comparable to Cherrys MX Red / Brown buttons. These switch characteristics and the fact that the new switch triggers more directly than the mechanical Cherry or Kailh competition, one gets used to quickly. Then you can use it while playing for very fast movements and when writing for very fast typing with minimal effort.
The player-friendly features of the Razer Huntsman Elite are good, but could be enhanced by extras such as USB / audio connections or hardware lighting control. However, as far as the ergonomics, comfort and typing feel of the new Razer Opto-Mechanical key switch is concerned, due to the direct response, the short switch paths and low activation pressure, there is no air at the top - here the optimum is achieved. Anyone who does not like the clicking sound of the buttons anyway will probably not be able to fully convince the Razer Huntsmen Elite with their other very good features.
