Although the exterior dimensions are similar to a midi tower, the bastion, with its sophisticated design, is designed to accommodate a motherboard even in E-ATX format. Even enough space for graphics cards with 370 millimeters to the front. With 160 millimeters, there is enough space for common CPU coolers. A cover hides the power adapter and HDD cage, which can accommodate either two 3.5-inch or two 2.5-inch drives. Two 2.5-inch SSDs can be attached to the back of the motherboard bracket.
Those who rely on air cooling will find enough slots for 120-millimeter fans. Two 120-millimeter fans can be attached to the power supply cover, while a removable air filter under the power supply ensures dust-free operation. Either two 120 mm or two 140 mm fans can be attached to the lid. The lid is provided with a mesh, which lets the air flow through almost unhindered. Again, a dust filter ensures that the hardware inside does not have to be constantly cleaned. At the back, a powerful 120-millimeter fan already uses the available slot. Even the motherboard tray is a real eye-catcher. Instead of boring quads and rectangles, for example, the recess behind the mainboard can be seen in form of a trapezoid. Well-placed feedthroughs and terminals allow for sophisticated cable management. The chic interior can be admired through a tempered glass side door, which can also be lifted out of the hinges. A strip of digitally addressable RGB LEDs is placed at the front of the power supply cover. A cover made of acrylic milk glass ensures a subtle light scattering. Its control and light effects are handled by a switch on the I/O panel.
The lighting on the pre-installed fan is also via a corresponding 3-pin connector (5VDG). Both can be connected to the two slots on the controller of the I/O panel. The fan also has a 3-pin socket to which other RGB components can be connected. Alternatively, the strip and fan can be connected to a corresponding 3-pin connector on the mainboard and is controlled via the software of the mainboard. This way the RGB switch on the I/O panel can be used as a reset button. "Comet Lake-S" - This is the name of the 10th generation of Intel Core processors. Like all RTX 2060 cards, the KFA2 is based on the TU106 chip, more precisely TU106-200A-KA-A1. This has 1920 Cuda cores, 120 TMUs and 48 ROPs. The base clock of the RTX 2060 is a moderate 1,365 MHz and the boost is 1,710 MHz if the 1-click OC clock is activated in Windows using the Xtreme Tuner Plus tool.
To overclock the KFA2 GeForce RTX 2060 1-Click-OC, we use the Xtreme Tuner Plus Tool from KFA2. For the RTX20 graphics cards that offer 1-Click-OC function, you always have to use the tool for the clock plus. On the RTX 2060, the 1-click OC button brings an increase from 30 MHz to 1,710 MHz. With manual overclocking, the power target cannot be changed and you are forced to work at 100%. The stable GPU clock leveled off at 115 MHz. Starting from a boost clock of 1710 MHz, we landed at 1.825 MHz. This corresponds to approximately 6.0% growth. The maximum boost measured with GPU-Z was 1,950 MHz.
We also overclocked the Samsung GDDR6 memory. Again, this turned out not to be particularly overclocking, compared to chips from Micron, which we found on the KFA2 GeForce RTX 2070 OC. The stable offset was 735 MHz. The standard graphics memory clocks at 1,750 MHz or 7,000 MHz. After that, the GDDR6 clock was at 2,066 or 8,264 MHz. As a percentage, we have a clock increase of just over 18%.
The GeForce RTX 2060 also placed very well in the games and easily takes on the GTX 1070, even if it has 2 GB more memory. It takes more clock to beat the GTX 1080. After overclocking, the RTX 2060 delivers more power than the GTX 1080, which is amazing.
In terms of performance, the KFA2 GeForce RTX 2060 1-Click OC showed its best side. In most cases, it left the GTX 1070 behind in the benchmarks; after overclocking, it could easily keep up with the GTX 1080. The 1-Click-OC feature increases the clock by 30 MHz. The performance boost was really noticeable after manually overclocking the card. 100 MHz higher GPU clock and 735 MHz higher memory clock showed a really good effect.
The custom cooler with two copper heat pipes in connection with the two 90 mm fans is exemplary. The fans usually do not start under normal GPU load and are therefore inaudible. When gaming, the fan control intervenes wonderfully and the card is very quiet.

The launch of Windows 10 and the associated developments are among the most important market launches in Microsoft's corporate history. Windows 10 not only brings a new version of the operating system onto the market, Windows 10 enables a new platform generation:

Microsoft already shortened the start times of Windows extremely with Windows 8. Even if we repeated the tests several times, nothing changed: When saving and buffering frequently used files, nothing seems to have changed between Windows 8.1 and 10. Conclusion: When it comes to hardware performance, Windows 10 is as fast as Windows 8.1 - or vice versa. So that Windows 10 stays fast, the same rules apply as always with Windows: Install the latest drivers and keep the system clean.
Windows 10 comes with the new Direct X12 3D interface. DX12 is designed to allow game programmers to use the capabilities of the GPU more efficiently. Computers with less powerful graphics cards can also benefit from this and display graphically complex games more smoothly. At the moment, the potential of DX12 can only be demonstrated using synthetic benchmarks such as the API overhead test. Conclusion: Windows 10 has the potential to accelerate games on weaker systems thanks to the DX12. But the concrete results will only show games that use DX12. The first should appear at the end of the year.
