This HI-TECH notebook is aimed primarily at players and does not disappoint in this regard: All the current games brings it to the screen fluently. Noise and heat development are relatively moderate.
The case (378 x 267 x 29.9) of the notebook is made entirely of black plastic. Surface textures are not found. The top of the base unit and the back of the lid are gummed. The speaker bar is located above the keyboard. Between loudspeaker bar and keyboard a not to be overlooked power button was placed. On the underside of the device you will find two easy-to-open maintenance flaps that provide access to all hardware.
The case is very solid processed. Weaknesses in terms of stability does not afford the device. The hinges hold the lid firmly in position. A one-hand opening of the lid is possible.
The notebook has a Macro Color Back-Lite Keyboard. Change the colors and glowing effects of your illuminated buttons as you like. The main keys have a size of about 15 x 15 mm. Overall, the keys have a normal stroke and a clear pressure point. We like her crisp resistance. All in all a keyboard with a very good typing feel.
The multitouch-capable touchpad brings it to the dimensions of 10.6 x 6.1 cm. This provides plenty of space for the use of gesture control ready. The smooth surface of the pad makes it easy for the fingers to glide. The various gestures can be individually switched on and off in the configuration menu of the pad. Below the pad are two mouse buttons. They have a short stroke and a clear pressure point.
The device is equipped with an anti-reflective 16.1 "FHD 144Hz panel, which works with a native resolution of 1,920 x 1,080. The screen has a good brightness of 299.2 cd / m².
The WLAN module also provides the Bluetooth 4,2 functionality of the notebook. Wired network connections handle Realtek's RTL8168 / 8111 family Gigabit Ethernet chip without complaining. The built-in webcam generates images in resolutions up to 1,920 x 1,080.
The gaming scion makes maintenance easy for its owner: Two large flaps provide quick access to the hardware. The device contains two memory banks, one of which is occupied. Both the M.2 SSD (Full Size) and the 2.5-inch HDD can be exchanged quickly and easily. Cleaning the two fans is possible.

The Intel Core i7-8750H is a six-core processor for notebooks, based on the Coffee Lake architecture and was introduced in early 2018. He clocks the six processor cores with 2.2 - 4.1 GHz (single and dual core turbo) and a maximum of 3.9 GHz when all cores are busy and 4 GHz when 4 cores are busy. The integrated graphics card is named UHD Graphics 630 and corresponds to the old HD Graphics 630. The power consumption is specified with 45 Watt TDP and can be lowered by the notebook manufacturer to 35 Watts (configurable TDP = cTDP Down).
The individual cores have not changed at Coffee Lake compared to Kaby Lake. The performance per clock remains the same and Coffee Lake can score only by the slightly improved production (14nm ++) and the additional cores. The graphics card was not improved, but only partially clocked higher.
With a specified TDP of 45 watts, the i5-8750H is best for large notebooks. Optionally, it can be throttled to 35 Watts via Configurable TDP-down (which reduces performance).
HI-TECH uses only full-copper heatpipe cooling. This type of cooling ensures optimal conditions and makes this unique notebook: While HI-TECH only uses this technology, other manufacturers often obstruct only inferior aluminum / copper hybrid or even pure aluminum coolers. These have a much worse cooling performance. Especially in gaming applications when devices are heavily used, there is a risk that the unit overheats. This leads to the fact that the individual components down contacts for reasons of protection, which minimizes the power of the device enormously. In the worst case, there could be breakdowns and could shorten the life lead. With the HI-TECH-copper heatpipe cooling in contrast the notebook is perfectly chilled even under extreme stress!
Need some examples? Maximum 34.9 ° C on the top and a maximum of 34.5 ° C on the bottom are given the high performance, a very low value. Make long gaming sessions are extremely comfortable, more than 24.5 ° C we could not measure on the palm rest. In idle mode, not even a temperature of 28.4 ° C is exceeded.

The mobile Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 is a graphics card for high end laptops. It is based on the Pascal architecture and manufactured in 16 nm FinFET at TSMC. The GPU is using the smaller GP106 chip. Compared to the desktop version of the GTX 1060, the laptop version offers the same amount of shaders but slightly lower clock rates. The TDP should also be lower, laptop manufacturer currently talk about a 10 Watts higher TDP than the old GTX 970M (predecessor). The performance of the mobile GTX 1060 should be similar (or slightly lower) than the desktop version.

The battery lasted for 5:24 hours in idle mode. Idle mode is simulated via Battery Eater's Reader's test using the screen's minimum brightness, enabled energy savings plan, and disabled radio modules. The load runtime is ascertained using Battery Eater's Classic test with maximum screen brightness and the "High Performance" profile. The laptop stopped the Wi-Fi test after 4:18 hours.
Websites are opened automatically every 40 seconds using the "Balanced" profile and a screen brightness of approximately 150 cd/m² in this test. We check the video playback time by running the short movie Big Buck Bunny (H.265 encoding, 1920 x 1080 pixels) in a loop.
The wireless modules are disabled and the screen's brightness is set to approximately 150 cd/m². The notebook managed a runtime of 3:48 hours.
We also tested the gaming runtime by running the in-game benchmark of the race game GRID: Autosport (1920 x 1080 pixels, Very High, 4x MSAA) in a loop. The 17-inch laptop achieved a runtime of 1:08 hours here.

All of the Samsung 860 EVO drives are also outfitted with the company’s latest 64-layer three-dimensional (3D) Vertical TLC NAND (V-NAND) flash memory. This NAND utilizes Samsung's proprietary vertical cell structure based on 3D Charge Trap Flash (CTF) technology and also uses vertical interconnect process technology to link the 3D cell array. By employing both of these technologies, Samsung's 3D V-NAND is able to provide better scaling than planar NAND flash, at least according to Samsung’s data. This latest V-NAND, in conjunction with the new controller and firmware tweaks also allowed Samsung to increase the endurance ratings on these drives, versus the previous-gen 850 EVO.
Like its MLC-based counterpart, the Samsung SSD 860 PRO, the SSD 860 EVO with its TLC NAND is among the highest-performing SATA-based solid state drives we have tested to date. The Samsung SSD 860 EVO didn't lead the pack across our suite of benchmarks, but overall performance across a variety of tests was strong and the drive consistently finished at (or near) the top of the charts. The 860 EVO's sequential transfers and access times are some of the best we’ve seen from a SATA-based drive, the drive led across the board in IOMeter along with the 860 PRO, and it put up strong 4K transfers as well relatively to competing offerings.
The Samsung SSD 860 EVO is among the most affordable, high-performance solid state drives on the market. The drives also carry a solid 5 year warranty and have good endurance rating, though endurance is no nearly as high as the more expensive SSD 860 Pro.

Windows 10 is the Goldilocks version of Microsoft's venerable PC operating system -- a "just right" compromise between the familiar dependability of Windows 7, and the forward-looking touchscreen vision of Windows 8.
This new Windows, available as a free upgrade for existing Windows 7 and Windows 8 noncorporate users, is built from the ground up to pursue Microsoft's vision of a unified OS that spans all devices without alienating any one platform. It's an attempt to safeguard Microsoft's crumbling software hegemony, assailed on all sides by Google and Apple. And it's a vision of the future as Microsoft sees it, where a single user experience spans every piece of technology we touch. Welcome to Windows as a service.
Yes, this new OS is chock-full of fresh features. To name just a few: a lean, fast Internet Explorer replacement called Edge; Microsoft's Siri-like voice-controlled virtual assistant, Cortana; and the ability to stream real-time games to your desktop from an Xbox One in another room. (And in case you're wondering: there is no "Windows 9" -- Microsoft skipped it, going straight from 8 to 10.)
But Windows 10 is also the end of a long, awkward road that began with the release of Windows 8 in 2012, when Microsoft tried to convince a world of keyboard and mouse wielders that touchscreens were the way to go -- or else. Ironically, in 2015, the PC hardware for that touchscreen future is now here -- everything from 2-in-1s such as the Lenovo Yoga line to convertible tablets with detachable keyboards, like Microsoft's own Surface. And Windows 10 smoothly lets users transition from "tablet" to "PC" mode on such devices like never before.
For the rest of the PC universe -- including those who still prefer good old-fashioned keyboard and mouse navigation -- Windows 10 is a welcome return to form. The Start menu, inexplicably yanked from 8, is back and working the way you expect it to. Those live tiles from the Windows 8 home screen still exist, but they've been attached to the Start menu, where they make a lot more sense. And the fiendishly hidden Charms bar has been morphed into the more straightforward (and easier to find) Action Center.
As always, there are some quibbles and gripes with the end product, but all-in-all -- after living with Windows 10 for months -- I can say it's a winner. It's flexible, adaptable and customizable. And it's been battle-tested by an army of beta testers for the better part of a year, making it one of the most robust operating system rollouts in recent memory.
A fresh Start
The Start menu is back; it's almost funny how relieving that is. That humble Start button has been a fixture on the lower left corner of the Windows desktop since the halcyon days of Windows 95, offering speedy access to apps and settings. Press it on Windows 10, and you'll see the latest step in a long conversation about the state of the PC industry.
The past sits on the left: a neat column with shortcuts to your most used apps. Press the "All Apps" button and you'll get an alphabetical list of all of the apps installed on your PC. There are folders in there too -- press them, and extra options will fly out, just like they always have.
The future -- or at least, the future as Microsoft envisions it -- sits on the right side of the Start menu. These are the colorful, animated live tiles that debuted in Windows 8, pulling double duty as app shortcuts and informative widgets. You can resize these live tiles, drag them about to arrange them into groups and pin as many apps as you'd like -- the entire Start menu can be shrunk or expanded to suit your liking. It's essentially a miniaturized version of the fullscreen Start menu we saw in Windows 8. Hate live tiles? Then unpin them to excise them from your computer, leaving you with the narrow column of frequently used apps we've known for so long.
