The casing of the notebook is made entirely of black plastic. There are no surface textures. The top of the base unit and the back of the lid are rubberized. The speaker bar is located above the keyboard and is angled towards the user. An unmissable power button was placed between the speaker bar and keyboard. On the underside of the device you will find two easy-to-open maintenance flaps that allow access to the entire hardware.
The case is very solid. The device has no weaknesses in terms of stability. The hinges hold the lid firmly in place. The lid can be opened with one hand.
The notebook offers a multi-color keyboard. The main buttons have a size of approximately 15 x 15 mm. Overall, the keys have a normal stroke and a clear pressure point. We like their crisp resistance. All in all, a keyboard with a very good typing feel.
The multitouch-capable touchpad has a size of 10.6 x 6.1 cm. This means there is plenty of space for using gesture control. The smooth surface of the pad makes it easy for the fingers to slide. The various gestures can be switched on and off individually in the pad's configuration menu. There are two mouse buttons below the pad. They have a short stroke and a clear pressure point.
The device is equipped with an anti-reflective, matt 17.3-inch display that works with a native resolution of 1920 x 1080 at 144 Hz.
The WLAN module also provides the Bluetooth 5.1 functionality of the notebook. A Gigabit Ethernet chip from Realtek's RTL8168 / 8111 family handles wired network connections without complaining. The built-in webcam creates images in resolutions up to 1920x1080.
The gaming scion makes maintenance easy for its owner: large flaps allow quick access to the hardware. The device contains two working memory banks, 2x M.2 2280 SSD via PCI-Express 3.0, 1x Thunderbolt. There is no possibility of installing a 2.5-inch HDD. It is possible to clean the two fans.

INTEL Core i7-10870H, clock frequency @ 5,0GHz, Socket 1440, code name Comet Lake-H, TDP 45W, cores 8, threads 16, base clock 2.00GHz, turbo clock 5.00GHz, SMT yes (Intel Hyper-Threading), memory controller Dual Channel PC4-23466U (DDR4-2933 ), CPU functions Optane Memory Support, Speed Shift, Thermal Velocity Boost (5.10GHz), Turbo Boost Max 3.0 (4.90GHz), vPro, Hyper-Threading, VT-x, VT-d, VT-x EPT, Intel 64 , SSE4.1, SSE4.2, AVX, AVX2, Idle States, EIST, Thermal Monitoring, Flex Memory Access, IPT, SIPP, AES-NI, Secure Key, SGX, OS Guard, TXT, XD Bit, Boot Guard, TDP -down (35W), L2 cache 2MB (8x 256kB), L3 cache 16MB, chipset interface DMI 3.0, 8GT / s (PCIe 3.0 x4), PCIe lanes 16x PCIe 3.0, memory max.128GB, memory bandwidth 45.8GB / S.
Intel is clearly one step ahead in the notebook market, and not only with the ultrabook processors with a high level of efficiency, but also with the gaming notebooks, which in recent years have in terms of performance in their desktop siblings with more and more cores and higher clock rates hardly inferior and on top of that worked very efficiently with a maximum TDP of 45 W.
Competitor AMD tried to attack every now and then, but in the field of high-end notebooks, Intel clearly remained the non-plus-ultra - especially in combination with a fast, dedicated GeForce graphics card from NVIDIA.
With its Comet Lake H processors, Intel has almost grabbed the crowbar and significantly accelerated the mobile core CPUs of the H family, especially when it comes to the clock rate. Although speeds beyond the magical 5.0 GHz mark are rarely used in our tests, as pure single-core applications are now rare, the Core i7-10870H lags behind the previous bread-and-butter Model among gaming notebooks, but also because it is the first mobile Core i7 processor with eight processing cores. The new Intel CPU clearly leads the field in single-threaded applications.
HI-TECH uses only full-copper heatpipe cooling. This type of cooling ensures optimal conditions and makes this unique notebook: While HI-TECH only uses this technology, other manufacturers often obstruct only inferior aluminum / copper hybrid or even pure aluminum coolers. These have a much worse cooling performance. Especially in gaming applications when devices are heavily used, there is a risk that the unit overheats. This leads to the fact that the individual components down contacts for reasons of protection, which minimizes the power of the device enormously. In the worst case, there could be breakdowns and could shorten the life lead. With the HI-TECH-copper heatpipe cooling in contrast the notebook is perfectly chilled even under extreme stress!
Need some examples? Maximum 34.9 ° C on the top and a maximum of 34.5 ° C on the bottom are given the high performance, a very low value. Make long gaming sessions are extremely comfortable, more than 24.5 ° C we could not measure on the palm rest. In idle mode, not even a temperature of 28.4 ° C is exceeded.
One might assume that the low surface temperatures expense of its components. But thought wrong: In our several-hour full load test (Furmark & Prime), the processor and the graphics card was far from critical regions, a maximum of 76 respectively 80 ° C gave the CPUID from Hardware Monitor. In idle mode, the components are shuttled one to nearly 40 ° C.
INTEL HM470 Express Chipset. The PCH (Platform Controller Hub) has changed only slightly compared to last year's Coffee Lake H refresh of the 9th generation. Comet Lake-H requires a chipset from Intel's 400 series and will provide a maximum of 40 Gen3 PCIe lanes, 16 of which come directly from the CPU. The rest depend on which chipset is used exactly.
According to Intel, there will be a total of three chipsets manufactured in 14 nm: the HM470 with 16 PCIe lanes for mainstream laptops, the QM480 with 16 PCIe lanes for business laptops and workstations and the WM490 with 24 PCIe lanes for high- End laptops.
In line with Intel's focus this year on the high single-core clock frequencies, the user-friendly speed optimizer overclocking tool, which is part of Intel XTU, has also been revised. According to Intel, Speed Optimizer should make overclocking much easier and more user-friendly. There is also a feature called Adaptix Dynamic Tuning, which manufacturers can use to optimize their laptops for maximum permanent turbo boost loads. How exactly Speed Optimizer and Adaptix work together has not been announced.
In terms of RAM, up to 128 GB DDR4-2933 are officially supported, whereby DDR4-3200 is also technically possible according to Intel. However, the decision rests with the manufacturer and only applies to the fully open Core i9-10980HK. Intel has not officially tested compatibility with DDR4-3200.

SAMSUNG SSD PM9A1 1TB, M.2, design Solid State Module (SSM), form factor M.2 2280, interface M.2 / M-Key (PCIe 4.0 x4), read 7000MB / s, write 5100MB / s SLC-Cached IOPS 4K read / write 1000k / 850k, memory modules 3D-NAND TLC, Samsung, 136 layers (V-NAND v6), reliability prognosis 1.5 million hours (MTBF), Samsung Elpis (S4LV003) controller, 8 channels, 1GB cache (LPDDR4), SLC cache, NVMe 1.3c protocol, data protection functions 256bit AES, TCG Opal 2.0, power consumption 0.035W (idle), 0.005W (sleep mode), special features L1.2 low-power standby.
The Samsung OEM SSD PM9A1 is made entirely of semiconductor components and uses NAND flash memory, which has high reliability and advanced technology in a small form factor. Thanks to the support of the Peripheral Component Interconnect Express (PCIe) 4.0 interface standard, performance is much faster than that of SATA SSDs. A comparison of the speed makes it clear that the PM9A1 version is definitely ahead. In contrast to the 6,000 MB / s, the two previous models only offered 3,500 MB / s. This is no wonder. After all, both OEMs were equipped with PCIe 3.0 and not the latest PCIe 4.0 standard.
The Samsung PM9A1 is an M.2 SSD with PCIe 4.0 and practically the OEM counterpart to the 980 Pro.

Microsoft Windows 10 Professional 64Bit, pre-installed with all necessary device drivers. Switch on and get started!
The launch of Windows 10 and the associated developments are among the most important market launches in Microsoft's corporate history. Windows 10 not only brings a new version of the operating system onto the market, Windows 10 enables a new platform generation:
"We want to ensure that we offer developers the largest and most vibrant user base for their applications," said Satya Nadella in his opening keynote at BUILD 2015 in San Francisco. Windows 10 is now available in 190 countries and 111 languages.
The browser is really new in Windows 10: Edge replaces Internet Explorer. The new browser doesn't just have the cooler name. It is also much faster. In almost all browser benchmarks, Edge depends on IE 11 from Windows 8.1. It can almost double its pace in Mozilla's Kraken benchmark. It looks the same in Google's Octane 2.0 test. Its pace remains roughly the same in the Sunspider test and the Peacekeeper benchmark. Conclusion: When it comes to the browser speed, Windows 10 with Edge catches up a lot. In Kraken and Octane, Edge overtakes the competition, in the Sunspider he stays ahead. The old conditions are only preserved in the Peacekeeper test.
Microsoft already shortened the start times of Windows extremely with Windows 8. If the computer is switched off using "Shut down", it does not switch itself off, but only goes into hibernation - from which it can wake up more quickly. Even with a real Katlstart or restart, Windows 8.1 is slightly slower: However, over time, Windows remembers the files that it needs for the start: The start time is shortened with repeated starts. After ten starts, the two operating systems were almost on par with 20 seconds (Windows 10) and 22 seconds (Windows 8.1).
Windows is actually getting faster and faster the older it gets: For most components, manufacturers are releasing ever more up-to-date drivers that accelerate the hardware. Windows feels like it is getting slower and slower: This is mostly due to the fact that the autostart folder is filling up with more and more entries, more and more tools are running in the background and more and more programs that are no longer used are littering the memory. The performance tests show hardly any difference between Windows 8.1 and Windows 10. Sometimes one system is faster, sometimes the other. But all the results are so closely related - with less than three percent difference - that no difference is noticeable in practice. This also applies to tests such as Cinebench R15, which primarily check the processor performance. Even if we repeated the tests several times, nothing changed: When saving and buffering frequently used files, nothing seems to have changed between Windows 8.1 and 10. Conclusion: When it comes to hardware performance, Windows 10 is as fast as Windows 8.1 - or vice versa. So that Windows 10 stays fast, the same rules apply as always with Windows: Install the latest drivers and keep the system clean.
Windows 10 comes with the new Direct X12 3D interface. DX12 is designed to allow game programmers to use the capabilities of the GPU more efficiently. Computers with less powerful graphics cards can also benefit from this and display graphically complex games more smoothly. At the moment, the potential of DX12 can only be demonstrated using synthetic benchmarks such as the API overhead test. Conclusion: Windows 10 has the potential to accelerate games on weaker systems thanks to the DX12. But the concrete results will only show games that use DX12. The first should appear at the end of the year.
Windows 10 lays a good foundation: the hardware manufacturers have to use this to tease out a performance plus with improved drivers. Or in the case of Direct X12 game programmers who use the capabilities of the new interface in games.
