Lots of space for gaming hardware at Kolink Bastion
Although the exterior dimensions are similar to a midi tower, the bastion, with its sophisticated design, is designed to accommodate a motherboard even in E-ATX format. Even enough space for graphics cards with 370 millimeters to the front. With 160 millimeters, there is enough space for common CPU coolers. A cover hides the power adapter and HDD cage, which can accommodate either two 3.5-inch or two 2.5-inch drives. Two 2.5-inch SSDs can be attached to the back of the motherboard bracket.
Those who rely on air cooling will find enough slots for 120-millimeter fans. Two 120-millimeter fans can be attached to the power supply cover, while a removable air filter under the power supply ensures dust-free operation. Either two 120 mm or two 140 mm fans can be attached to the lid. The lid is provided with a mesh, which lets the air flow through almost unhindered. Again, a dust filter ensures that the hardware inside does not have to be constantly cleaned. At the back, a powerful 120-millimeter fan already uses the available slot. The pre-installed fan is also equipped with a digitally controllable RGB LED lighting. Of course, instead of the fans adequate radiators can be installed.
Tempered glass and RGB LEDs highlight the hardware in a proper way
Even the motherboard tray is a real eye-catcher. Instead of boring quads and rectangles, for example, the recess behind the mainboard can be seen in form of a trapezoid. Well-placed feedthroughs and terminals allow for sophisticated cable management. The chic interior can be admired through a tempered glass side door, which can also be lifted out of the hinges. A strip of digitally addressable RGB LEDs is placed at the front of the power supply cover. A cover made of acrylic milk glass ensures a subtle light scattering. Its control and light effects are handled by a switch on the I/O panel.
The lighting on the pre-installed fan is also via a corresponding 3-pin connector (5VDG). Both can be connected to the two slots on the controller of the I/O panel. The fan also has a 3-pin socket to which other RGB components can be connected. Alternatively, the strip and fan can be connected to a corresponding 3-pin connector on the mainboard and is controlled via the software of the mainboard. This way the RGB switch on the I/O panel can be used as a reset button. In addition to the RGB/Reset switch, there is also a USB 3.0 and two USB 2.0 slots, as well as 3.5mm jacks for headphone and microphone, and a power and HDD LED.

The Intel Core i5-10400F with six cores and Hyper-Threading is the expected big leap compared to its direct predecessor, the performance increases in some cases significantly. Together with its low price, this makes the CPU the most interesting solution in Intel's Comet Lake S portfolio for the LGA 1200 socket.
The leap in performance is most evident in applications. In the best case, this is up to 35 percent more. The new CPU is also faster than its predecessor in games and overtakes AMD's 6-core Zen 2 competitor, which was recently faster than the Intel Core i5-9400F on average. The new Intel Core i5-10400F is on par with the old top model Core i7-8700K. How clear the gain over the Core i5-9400F is depends on the title. If a game addresses more than six or eight threads, the lead can quickly turn into double digits, thanks to Hyper-Threading.
INTEL Boxed cooling. All models, whether K or non-K, rely on a cooler that is very similar to that of the Clarkdale and Lynnfield versions. However, Intel has decided against radially oriented cooling fins and uses instead again curved aluminum fins. This cooler we liked in terms of smoothness in idle quite well and should be absolutely sufficient for most users.

The MSI H410M-A Pro in detail
The MSI H410M-A Pro Micro-ATX motherboard has a PCIe-x16 slot that is connected to the chipset with a full 16 lanes. The board also has a PCIe 3.0 x1 slot for plug-in and expansion cards.
The M.2 slot connected via four PCIe 3.0 lanes supports the NVMe protocol and, in combination with corresponding M.2 SSDs, enables a data transfer rate of just under 4 GB / s. This is about eight times faster than an SSD connected via SATA 6G! Additional drives such as SSDs, HDDs and optical drives can be connected via four SATA 3.0 ports. The graphics card is a heavily upgraded version of the Geforce GTX 1650. The new model calculates about twice as fast as the older Geforce GTX 1050 and is roughly 50 percent faster than the previous Geforce GTX 1650.
The Geforce GTX 1650 Super slides between the Geforce GTX 1650 and the Geforce GTX 1660, but is technically much closer to the big model. The TU117 chip used in the Geforce GTX 1650 has 1,024 shader units, of which Nvidia only uses 896, and a 128-bit interface with 4 GBit / s fast GDDR5 memory. The Geforce GTX 1660, on the other hand, uses the larger TU116 with 1,402 ALUs from 1,536 possible shaders, plus a 192-bit interface.
For the Geforce GTX 1650 Super, Nvidia relies on this TU116 and unlocks 1,280 calculators of the existing cores. The memory bus remains 128 bits wide, but is combined with 6 GBit / s GDDR6. The Super variant has 43 percent more computing speed and a 50 percent higher data transfer rate, which leads to a significant increase in performance.
Benchmarks in 1,920 × 1,080
The GeForce GTX 1650 Super gains significantly with the cropped TU116 instead of the fully active TU117 GPU. The new graphics card is 36 percent faster on average than the GeForce GTX 1650, which is a good jump. This brings the graphics card fairly close to the GeForce GTX 1660, which only remains 11 percent faster.
The comparison to the GeForce GTX 1060 is interesting because it has the same number of shader units and an identical memory bandwidth as the GeForce GTX 1650 Super. This means that only the clock and - even more important - the performance differences per ALU between Pascal and Turing make the difference. In the adapted test course, the new graphics card works six percent faster than the old middle class. It's not quite enough for the Radeon RX 590, although the difference is only marginal percentage points.
In contrast, the GeForce GTX 1650 Super has to give up a bit in the frame times. In our test, the super model is only one percent ahead of the GeForce GTX 1060, so the Radeon RX 580 suddenly cuts off at the same speed and the Radeon RX 590 is ten percent better.
With the GeForce GTX 1650 Super, Nvidia's entry-level Turing significantly increases in performance as long as there is enough memory. The super version comes pretty close to the GeForce GTX 1660 and can usually handle Full HD well, even if the details need to be reduced occasionally. The graphics card is faster than a GeForce GTX 1060 on the go. But there is a disadvantage: The 4 GB of memory is too scarce in this class these days, so the most beautiful textures cannot always be called up.

This new Windows, available as a free upgrade for existing Windows 7 and Windows 8 noncorporate users, is built from the ground up to pursue Microsoft's vision of a unified OS that spans all devices without alienating any one platform. It's an attempt to safeguard Microsoft's crumbling software hegemony, assailed on all sides by Google and Apple. And it's a vision of the future as Microsoft sees it, where a single user experience spans every piece of technology we touch. Welcome to Windows as a service.
Yes, this new OS is chock-full of fresh features. To name just a few: a lean, fast Internet Explorer replacement called Edge; Microsoft's Siri-like voice-controlled virtual assistant, Cortana; and the ability to stream real-time games to your desktop from an Xbox One in another room. (And in case you're wondering: there is no "Windows 9" -- Microsoft skipped it, going straight from 8 to 10.)
But Windows 10 is also the end of a long, awkward road that began with the release of Windows 8 in 2012, when Microsoft tried to convince a world of keyboard and mouse wielders that touchscreens were the way to go -- or else. Ironically, in 2015, the PC hardware for that touchscreen future is now here -- everything from 2-in-1s such as the Lenovo Yoga line to convertible tablets with detachable keyboards, like Microsoft's own Surface. And Windows 10 smoothly lets users transition from "tablet" to "PC" mode on such devices like never before.
For the rest of the PC universe -- including those who still prefer good old-fashioned keyboard and mouse navigation -- Windows 10 is a welcome return to form. The Start menu, inexplicably yanked from 8, is back and working the way you expect it to. Those live tiles from the Windows 8 home screen still exist, but they've been attached to the Start menu, where they make a lot more sense. And the fiendishly hidden Charms bar has been morphed into the more straightforward (and easier to find) Action Center.
As always, there are some quibbles and gripes with the end product, but all-in-all -- after living with Windows 10 for months -- I can say it's a winner. It's flexible, adaptable and customizable. And it's been battle-tested by an army of beta testers for the better part of a year, making it one of the most robust operating system rollouts in recent memory.
A fresh Start
The Start menu is back; it's almost funny how relieving that is. That humble Start button has been a fixture on the lower left corner of the Windows desktop since the halcyon days of Windows 95, offering speedy access to apps and settings. Press it on Windows 10, and you'll see the latest step in a long conversation about the state of the PC industry.
The past sits on the left: a neat column with shortcuts to your most used apps. Press the "All Apps" button and you'll get an alphabetical list of all of the apps installed on your PC. There are folders in there too -- press them, and extra options will fly out, just like they always have.
The future -- or at least, the future as Microsoft envisions it -- sits on the right side of the Start menu. These are the colorful, animated live tiles that debuted in Windows 8, pulling double duty as app shortcuts and informative widgets. You can resize these live tiles, drag them about to arrange them into groups and pin as many apps as you'd like -- the entire Start menu can be shrunk or expanded to suit your liking. It's essentially a miniaturized version of the fullscreen Start menu we saw in Windows 8. Hate live tiles? Then unpin them to excise them from your computer, leaving you with the narrow column of frequently used apps we've known for so long.
