CORSAIR not only offers the Carbide Series 100R in two different configurations, but also pursues two different strategies. While the regular variants offer basic equipment and should be as cheap as possible, the Silent Edition is positioned as a cheap silent model. This is all the more interesting because the manufacturers of silent housings can usually be paid well.
For little money, the Carbide Series 100R Silent Edition can actually offer the volume-sensitive user a lot. If hardware is installed that does not place great demands on the case cooling, the two case fans can be regulated extremely quietly with the three-stage fan controller. There are quite acceptable reserves in case more air flow is needed. The sound insulation mats on the front, lid and both side parts also contribute to a convincing Silent presentation. However, the missing hard disk decoupling should be considered. The Carbide Series 100R Silent Edition is best used with an SSD or, at most, particularly smooth-running hard drives.
In keeping with the subtle acoustics, the Corsair case is also visually unobtrusive. Faux-aluminum is certainly a matter of taste, but if you don't look too closely, you can definitely enjoy it. The front positioning of the I/O panel is also a matter of taste. It may bother some users for visual reasons, but it is always practical.
While the standard version of the Carbide Series 100R competes with a large number of entry-level models from other manufacturers, the Silent Edition at least has a little more room to maneuver. Comparable competing models are Cooltek's Antiphon and Antec's P100. Both are available at a similar price point, are designed for silent operation and are also visually unobtrusive. If you are looking for a quiet entry-level case, Corsair's Carbide Series 100R Silent Edition is a proven choice. Especially the combination of the built-in case fans and the three-stage fan control is convincing, because it allows a sufficiently fine adjustment of the cooling capacity and volume.
INTEL Core i5-10400F, clock frequency @ 4.30GHz, Socket 1200 (LGA), code name Comet Lake-S, TDP 65W, cores 6, threads 12, base clock 2.90GHz, turbo clock 4.30GHz, SMT yes (Intel Hyper-Threading), memory controller Dual Channel PC4-21300U (DDR4-2666), CPU functions Optane Memory Support, Turbo Boost 2.0, Hyper-Threading, VT-x, VT-d, VT-x EPT, Intel 64, SSE4.1, SSE4.2, AVX, AVX2, Idle States, EIST, Thermal Monitoring, IPT, AES-NI, Secure Key, SGX, OS Guard, XD Bit, Boot Guard, L2-Cache 1.5MB (6x 256kB), L3 cache 12MB, chipset interface DMI 3.0, 8GT / s (PCIe 3.0 x4), PCIe lanes 16x PCIe 3.0, memory max. 128GB, memory bandwidth 41.6GB / s.
The Intel Core i5-10400F with six cores and Hyper-Threading is the expected big leap compared to its direct predecessor, the performance increases in some cases significantly. Together with its low price, this makes the CPU the most interesting solution in Intel's Comet Lake S portfolio for the LGA 1200 socket.
The leap in performance is most evident in applications. In the best case, this is up to 35 percent more. The new CPU is also faster than its predecessor in games and overtakes AMD's 6-core Zen 2 competitor, which was recently faster than the Intel Core i5-9400F on average. The new Intel Core i5-10400F is on par with the old top model Core i7-8700K. How clear the gain over the Core i5-9400F is depends on the title. If a game addresses more than six or eight threads, the lead can quickly turn into double digits, thanks to Hyper-Threading.

KFA2 GeForce GTX 1650 EX PLUS (1-Click OC), 4GB GDDR6 128-bit DP / HDMI / DVI-D, 128-bit, connections 1x DVI, 1x HDMI 2.0b, 1x DisplayPort 1.4a, chip TU116-300-A1 "Turing", chip clock 1410MHz, Boost: 1635MHz (OC Mode), memory 4GB GDDR6, 12000MHz, 128bit, 192GB / s, shader units / TMUs / ROPs 1280/88/48, cooling 2x axial fans (90mm ), Special features H.265 encode / decode, NVIDIA G-Sync, NVIDIA VR-Ready, backplate, HDCP 2.2, boost clock overclocked, interface PCIe 3.0 x16, DirectX 12.1, OpenGL 4.6, OpenCL 2.0, Vulkan 1.1.103, Shader model 6.3.
The graphics card is a heavily upgraded version of the Geforce GTX 1650. The new model calculates about twice as fast as the older Geforce GTX 1050 and is roughly 50 percent faster than the previous Geforce GTX 1650.
The Geforce GTX 1650 Plus slides between the Geforce GTX 1650 and the Geforce GTX 1660, but is technically much closer to the big model. The TU117 chip used in the Geforce GTX 1650 has 1,024 shader units, of which Nvidia only uses 896, and a 128-bit interface with 4 GBit / s fast GDDR5 memory. The Geforce GTX 1660, on the other hand, uses the larger TU116 with 1,402 ALUs from 1,536 possible shaders, plus a 192-bit interface.
For the Geforce GTX 1650 Plus, Nvidia relies on this TU116 and unlocks 1,280 calculators of the existing cores. The memory bus remains 128 bits wide, but is combined with 6 GBit / s GDDR6. The Super variant has 43 percent more computing speed and a 50 percent higher data transfer rate, which leads to a significant increase in performance.
Benchmarks in 1,920 × 1,080
The GeForce GTX 1650 Plus gains significantly with the cropped TU116 instead of the fully active TU117 GPU. The new graphics card is 36 percent faster on average than the GeForce GTX 1650, which is a good jump. This brings the graphics card fairly close to the GeForce GTX 1660, which only remains 11 percent faster.
The comparison to the GeForce GTX 1060 is interesting because it has the same number of shader units and an identical memory bandwidth as the GeForce GTX 1650 Plus. This means that only the clock and - even more important - the performance differences per ALU between Pascal and Turing make the difference. In the adapted test course, the new graphics card works six percent faster than the old middle class. It's not quite enough for the Radeon RX 590, although the difference is only marginal percentage points.
In contrast, the GeForce GTX 1650 Plus has to give up a bit in the frame times. In our test, the super model is only one percent ahead of the GeForce GTX 1060, so the Radeon RX 580 suddenly cuts off at the same speed and the Radeon RX 590 is ten percent better.
With the GeForce GTX 1650 Plus, Nvidia's entry-level Turing significantly increases in performance as long as there is enough memory. The super version comes pretty close to the GeForce GTX 1660 and can usually handle Full HD well, even if the details need to be reduced occasionally. The graphics card is faster than a GeForce GTX 1060 on the go. But there is a disadvantage: The 4 GB of memory is too scarce in this class these days, so the most beautiful textures cannot always be called up.

Microsoft Windows 10 Professional 64Bit, pre-installed with all necessary device drivers. Switch on and get started!
The launch of Windows 10 and the associated developments are among the most important market launches in Microsoft's corporate history. Windows 10 not only brings a new version of the operating system onto the market, Windows 10 enables a new platform generation:
"We want to ensure that we offer developers the largest and most vibrant user base for their applications," said Satya Nadella in his opening keynote at BUILD 2015 in San Francisco. Windows 10 is now available in 190 countries and 111 languages.
The browser is really new in Windows 10: Edge replaces Internet Explorer. The new browser doesn't just have the cooler name. It is also much faster. In almost all browser benchmarks, Edge depends on IE 11 from Windows 8.1. It can almost double its pace in Mozilla's Kraken benchmark. It looks the same in Google's Octane 2.0 test. Its pace remains roughly the same in the Sunspider test and the Peacekeeper benchmark. Conclusion: When it comes to the browser speed, Windows 10 with Edge catches up a lot. In Kraken and Octane, Edge overtakes the competition, in the Sunspider he stays ahead. The old conditions are only preserved in the Peacekeeper test.
Windows start
Microsoft already shortened the start times of Windows extremely with Windows 8. If the computer is switched off using "Shut down", it does not switch itself off, but only goes into hibernation - from which it can wake up more quickly. Even with a real Katlstart or restart, Windows 8.1 is slightly slower: However, over time, Windows remembers the files that it needs for the start: The start time is shortened with repeated starts. After ten starts, the two operating systems were almost on par with 20 seconds (Windows 10) and 22 seconds (Windows 8.1).
System performance
Windows is actually getting faster and faster the older it gets: For most components, manufacturers are releasing ever more up-to-date drivers that accelerate the hardware. Windows feels like it is getting slower and slower: This is mostly due to the fact that the autostart folder is filling up with more and more entries, more and more tools are running in the background and more and more programs that are no longer used are littering the memory. The performance tests show hardly any difference between Windows 8.1 and Windows 10. Sometimes one system is faster, sometimes the other. But all the results are so closely related - with less than three percent difference - that no difference is noticeable in practice. This also applies to tests such as Cinebench R15, which primarily check the processor performance. Even if we repeated the tests several times, nothing changed: When saving and buffering frequently used files, nothing seems to have changed between Windows 8.1 and 10. Conclusion: When it comes to hardware performance, Windows 10 is as fast as Windows 8.1 - or vice versa. So that Windows 10 stays fast, the same rules apply as always with Windows: Install the latest drivers and keep the system clean.
3D performance
Windows 10 comes with the new Direct X12 3D interface. DX12 is designed to allow game programmers to use the capabilities of the GPU more efficiently. Computers with less powerful graphics cards can also benefit from this and display graphically complex games more smoothly. At the moment, the potential of DX12 can only be demonstrated using synthetic benchmarks such as the API overhead test. Conclusion: Windows 10 has the potential to accelerate games on weaker systems thanks to the DX12. But the concrete results will only show games that use DX12. The first should appear at the end of the year.
Windows 10 lays a good foundation: the hardware manufacturers have to use this to tease out a performance plus with improved drivers. Or in the case of Direct X12 game programmers who use the capabilities of the new interface in games.
