Elegant look and spacious interior: The Midi-Tower Kolink Bastion combines functionality with a reserved yet chic exterior. Beneath the tempered glass side door, the Midi Tower is decorated with an RGB LED strip, its colors are discreetly illuminated behind a strip of acrylic milk glass. The color scheme is complemented by a rear fan with digitally addressable RGB LEDs. A switch on the I/O panel controls the lighting. The spacious interior is packed with powerful hardware. A fine mesh with integrated dust filter on the top provides a proper ventilation.
The features of the Kolink Bastion Midi-Tower at a glance:
chic midi tower for motherboards up to E-ATX format
side part made of tempered glass with hinges
subtle digitally addressable RGB lighting on the power supply cover
a pre-installed 120 mm rear fan with digitally addressable RGB LEDs
up to five 120 mm and two 140 mm fans possible in total
room for graphics cards up to 370 mm, CPU cooler up to 160 mm
I/O panel with control for RGB LEDs, 1x USB 3.0 and 2x USB 2.0
Lots of space for gaming hardware at Kolink Bastion
Although the exterior dimensions are similar to a midi tower, the bastion, with its sophisticated design, is designed to accommodate a motherboard even in E-ATX format. Even enough space for graphics cards with 370 millimeters to the front. With 160 millimeters, there is enough space for common CPU coolers. A cover hides the power adapter and HDD cage, which can accommodate either two 3.5-inch or two 2.5-inch drives. Two 2.5-inch SSDs can be attached to the back of the motherboard bracket.
Those who rely on air cooling will find enough slots for 120-millimeter fans. Two 120-millimeter fans can be attached to the power supply cover, while a removable air filter under the power supply ensures dust-free operation. Either two 120 mm or two 140 mm fans can be attached to the lid. The lid is provided with a mesh, which lets the air flow through almost unhindered. Again, a dust filter ensures that the hardware inside does not have to be constantly cleaned. At the back, a powerful 120-millimeter fan already uses the available slot. The pre-installed fan is also equipped with a digitally controllable RGB LED lighting. Of course, instead of the fans adequate radiators can be installed.
Tempered glass and RGB LEDs highlight the hardware in a proper way
Even the motherboard tray is a real eye-catcher. Instead of boring quads and rectangles, for example, the recess behind the mainboard can be seen in form of a trapezoid. Well-placed feedthroughs and terminals allow for sophisticated cable management. The chic interior can be admired through a tempered glass side door, which can also be lifted out of the hinges. A strip of digitally addressable RGB LEDs is placed at the front of the power supply cover. A cover made of acrylic milk glass ensures a subtle light scattering. Its control and light effects are handled by a switch on the I/O panel.
The lighting on the pre-installed fan is also via a corresponding 3-pin connector (5VDG). Both can be connected to the two slots on the controller of the I/O panel. The fan also has a 3-pin socket to which other RGB components can be connected. Alternatively, the strip and fan can be connected to a corresponding 3-pin connector on the mainboard and is controlled via the software of the mainboard. This way the RGB switch on the I/O panel can be used as a reset button. In addition to the RGB/Reset switch, there is also a USB 3.0 and two USB 2.0 slots, as well as 3.5mm jacks for headphone and microphone, and a power and HDD LED.

AMD Ryzen 5 3600X @ 4.40GHz, Socket AM4, codename Matisse, cores 6, threads 12, base clock 3.80GHz, Turbo clock 4.40GHz, memory controller Dual Channel PC4-25600U (DDR4-3200), CPU features ECC support, Turbo Core 3.0, Precision Boost 2, Precision Boost Overdrive, SMT, VT-Vi, X86-64, AMD-V, AVX, AVX2, AES (2x FMA), NX-Bit, EVP, PCIe 4.0 (X570 only), multiplier selectable , Zen 2 architecture, L2 cache 3MB (6x 512kB), L3 cache 32MB (2x 16MB), memory max. 128GB, memory bandwidth 51.2GB/s.
The Ryzen 5 3600X and the Ryzen 5 3600 share the same piece of silicon, but differ in terms of clock rates. It's simply amazing what power is extracted from six cores and the small TDP. All of AMD’s predecessor CPUs are beaten, as even the Ryzen 7 2700X does not come close to this new compact and powerful processor. As a user of a first-generation Zen, you don‘t need to think twice about it, and you don‘t need eternal supporters of the Intel 7700K, which are still quite numerous. Zen 2 arrived in 2019 and shows how it works.
A Ryzen 7 2700X looks absolutely outdated against the little Ryzen 5 3600X. Even Intel's Core i5-9600K is always within reach and is overtaken in two out of five titles. When looking at AC: Odyssey benchmarks, we get very interesting results: Ubisoft's adventure is known for making good use of many cores or threads. You can already see that when comparing the Ryzen 7 2700X with the Core i5-9600K. But the Ryzen 5 3600X then packs another 15 percent on the eight-core predecessor, although with two cores or four threads less this advantage is missing. Cores are not everything, but also the architecture and how the CPU handles the existing technology plays an important role. This can also be seen in The Witcher 3. A Ryzen 5 3600X seems to run smoother overall than a Core i5-9600K, even though fewer frames per second are achieved.
AMD Wraith CPU cooler. We've gone one better with a brand-new premium line of AMD Wraith Coolers for the AM4 platform and the advanced Ryzen processor. From the shallow Wraith Stealth to the high-end Wraith Prism, every Wraith Cooler offers virtually silent operation and excellent cooling performance. Plus, every 2nd and 3rd generation Ryzen 7 and 9 desktop processor features an AMD Wraith Cooler with color-configurable LED lighting, which makes your PC not only powerful, but also looks great. RGB colour control is available when using a compatible motherboard such as ASRock RGB LED, ASUS Aura sync, Biostar VIVID LED DJ, Gigabyte RGB Fusion or MSI Mystic Hell. Note: Not every AMD Wraith Cooler is equipped with user-controlled RGB lighting.
While Tower coolers create a stream of air parallel to the motherboard, which starts a few inches above it, Top Down blows directly onto the motherboard, where the air then spreads in all directions. Since modern mainboards do not require active cooling and case fans are usually mounted higher, this is the only airflow that can cool onboard components in the CPU environment - and tower coolers eliminate this effect, according to popular opinion.
Critical components are clearly the CPU voltage converter on the motherboard. These circuits reduce the 12 volts coming from the power supply to the desired supply voltage of the processor and, like all electrical components, operate with limited efficiency. Accurate measurements are very expensive, but typically there is a 15 to 30 percent greater current flow to the transducers than they are to the CPU - the rest is converted to heat at the voltage transformers.
The AMD Wraith Prism is the ultimate cooling solution from AMD for processors with air cooling. The Wraith Prism offers more than any cooling solution before: an RGB LED control around the light ring, transparent fan blades and colour control with dynamic rainbow effects. But the Wraith Prism is not only outwardly appealing. It also increased motherboard and RAM compatibility.
Note: the fans of the AMD Ryzen 3 and 5 series are not illuminated.

Since AM4 motherboards with chipsets from the 400 series have only very limited BIOS memory space to support the latest Ryzen processors, MSI is relaunching its existing models as a "MAX" version with more memory space and also better DDR4 performance. As the name suggests, the new boards have maximum compatibility for the AM4 socket and are aimed at users who do not want to buy the more expensive X570 boards and at the same time do not want to worry about the smooth interaction between mainboard and processor.
MSI wants to mark the corresponding products with clear information on the packaging and also on the product page so that there is no confusion. All MAX mainboards support the new Ryzen 3000 CPUs ex works, and future Ryzen 3000 processors are also to be supported thanks to sufficient storage space for future BIOS updates. For the updates there is either the graphical user interface of the "Click BIOS 5" or, for most models, a flash BIOS button. Nevertheless, the new MAX boards have also improved the DDR4 performance compared to the previous models, with up to 4,133 MHz (A-XMP) now being supported.

Nvidia has let the rumour mill boil. Now the guessing is finally over. "Super" – similar to Ti – are drilled versions of the already known RTX cards. But how super is the new RTX 2060 Super really?
Thanks to retreading, the GeForce RTX 2060 Super comes close to the performance of a standard RTX 2070, but the price is lower. And compared to the normal RTX 2060, the super version delivers exactly 11 percent more power. That's really super! Thus, the original entry-level class transforms into a serious player in the middle class. The larger memory and higher clock rate allow smooth game play in 4K and WQHD at full details.
While Raytracing on the old RTX 2060 was rather pro forma on board, the 2060 SUPER uses the technology for softer shadows and lighting effects much better thanks to the upgrade. This gets 34 Raytracing cores, so four valuable units more than the previous RTX 2060 and two less than the GeForce RTX 2070. By means of ray tracing, moving light sources such as sunbeams or lightnings can be displayed in different strengths and with reflections. Likewise, Nvidia has increased the number of tensor cores from 240 to 272 units. These are responsible for anti-aliasing via Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS), which improves the previous anti-aliasing. For example, aliasing is applied to geometric objects. Bonus: The DLSS technique works much more resource efficient than anti-aliasing.
That's the technical side of the SUPER GPUs, but how do the upgrades affect performance?
With Full HD games (1920x1080 pixels) Nvidia was able to increase the tempo by 10 percent. But that's not so relevant, because the normal RTX 2060 anyway did not stumble on Full HD. Interesting is the tempo boost in WQHD titles (2560x1440 pixels): It reaches even 14 percent additionally - that's in fact super. For comparison: The old "Pascal" chip GeForce GTX 1070 Ti can no longer keep up. And in 4K games, the tempo advantage of the RTX 2060 Super compared to the normal RTX 2060 is 9 percent. Great: So you can use the RTX 2060 SUPER even in combination with inexpensive processors such as the Ryzen 7 2700x and 16 gigabytes of RAM for gambling in 4K.

Microsoft Windows 10 Professional 64Bit, Full Version!
Windows 10 is the Goldilocks version of Microsoft's venerable PC operating system -- a "just right" compromise between the familiar dependability of Windows 7, and the forward-looking touchscreen vision of Windows 8.
This new Windows, available as a free upgrade for existing Windows 7 and Windows 8 noncorporate users, is built from the ground up to pursue Microsoft's vision of a unified OS that spans all devices without alienating any one platform. It's an attempt to safeguard Microsoft's crumbling software hegemony, assailed on all sides by Google and Apple. And it's a vision of the future as Microsoft sees it, where a single user experience spans every piece of technology we touch. Welcome to Windows as a service.
Yes, this new OS is chock-full of fresh features. To name just a few: a lean, fast Internet Explorer replacement called Edge; Microsoft's Siri-like voice-controlled virtual assistant, Cortana; and the ability to stream real-time games to your desktop from an Xbox One in another room. (And in case you're wondering: there is no "Windows 9" -- Microsoft skipped it, going straight from 8 to 10.)
But Windows 10 is also the end of a long, awkward road that began with the release of Windows 8 in 2012, when Microsoft tried to convince a world of keyboard and mouse wielders that touchscreens were the way to go -- or else. Ironically, in 2015, the PC hardware for that touchscreen future is now here -- everything from 2-in-1s such as the Lenovo Yoga line to convertible tablets with detachable keyboards, like Microsoft's own Surface. And Windows 10 smoothly lets users transition from "tablet" to "PC" mode on such devices like never before.
For the rest of the PC universe -- including those who still prefer good old-fashioned keyboard and mouse navigation -- Windows 10 is a welcome return to form. The Start menu, inexplicably yanked from 8, is back and working the way you expect it to. Those live tiles from the Windows 8 home screen still exist, but they've been attached to the Start menu, where they make a lot more sense. And the fiendishly hidden Charms bar has been morphed into the more straightforward (and easier to find) Action Center.
As always, there are some quibbles and gripes with the end product, but all-in-all -- after living with Windows 10 for months -- I can say it's a winner. It's flexible, adaptable and customizable. And it's been battle-tested by an army of beta testers for the better part of a year, making it one of the most robust operating system rollouts in recent memory.
A fresh Start
The Start menu is back; it's almost funny how relieving that is. That humble Start button has been a fixture on the lower left corner of the Windows desktop since the halcyon days of Windows 95, offering speedy access to apps and settings. Press it on Windows 10, and you'll see the latest step in a long conversation about the state of the PC industry.
The past sits on the left: a neat column with shortcuts to your most used apps. Press the "All Apps" button and you'll get an alphabetical list of all of the apps installed on your PC. There are folders in there too -- press them, and extra options will fly out, just like they always have.
The future -- or at least, the future as Microsoft envisions it -- sits on the right side of the Start menu. These are the colorful, animated live tiles that debuted in Windows 8, pulling double duty as app shortcuts and informative widgets. You can resize these live tiles, drag them about to arrange them into groups and pin as many apps as you'd like -- the entire Start menu can be shrunk or expanded to suit your liking. It's essentially a miniaturized version of the fullscreen Start menu we saw in Windows 8. Hate live tiles? Then unpin them to excise them from your computer, leaving you with the narrow column of frequently used apps we've known for so long.
