Case

The ANTEC P101, a high-class housing with many features, which is also a real eye-catcher. In a classic design with straight edges, smooth front, white air intakes, illuminated USB ports, it shows its stylish side. The Silent Midi Tower Antec P101 Silent is equipped with noise insulation in the front, cover and side panels. The chassis is made of sturdy steel. After removing the left side wall, the white mainboard tray is immediately visible. Main boards up to E-ATX can be installed here. There are four black and four white PCI slot covers in the back - the P101 Silent has space for eight expansion cards or 4-way SLI and crossfire systems.

Graphics cards can be up to 290 millimeters long. After removing the drive cage installed in the front, which can accommodate eight 3.5-inch or 2.5-inch drives on slides, there is space for pixel accelerators with a maximum length of 450 millimeters. Two additional 2.5-inch data storage devices can be installed behind the mainboard tray. There is also a 5.25-inch slot for an optical drive at the top of the case front.
Cooling with air and water. Three 120 mm or two 140 mm fans can be installed in the front and there is space for a 140 or 120 fan on the back of the case. CPU coolers must not exceed a height of 180 millimeters. Four 120 mm fans are pre-installed at the factory: one in the back and three in the front. If you choose water cooling, the Antec P101 Silent offers the option of installing a 360, 280 or 240 radiator in the front and space for a 140 or 120 mm heat exchanger in the rear.

The power supply cover is a total of 290 millimeters long and thus offers space for very powerful power supplies and storage space for cables. Intelligent cable management with two centimeters of storage space behind the mainboard tray and rubberized cable tunnels guides the power connections and data cables through the housing in an orderly manner and ensures optimal airflow.

Connections and special features
In addition to the usual power and reset buttons, the I / O panel also offers a three-stage fan control and four illuminated USB ports of type A, two USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 ports can be found here. A headset can also be connected to the 3.5 mm jack plug. The front has an insulated side door that opens to the right, behind which there is the optical drive and the three front fans with a dust filter. Intel itself speaks of the fastest desktop processor in the world with the new top model, the Core i9-13900KS. To achieve this goal, Intel has increased clock rates up to 6.0 GHz, doubled the number of E-Cores and revised the cache system.

With the Raptor Lake processors and in particular the Core i9-13900K, Intel currently has processors on offer that have a comfortable advantage over the competition, at least in single-core applications such as games. Apparently, that doesn't stop Intel from working on an even faster model: Intel Core i9-13900KS.

With the Core i9-12900KS, Intel wanted to counter the Ryzen 7 5800X3D as the first processor with 3D V-Cache. The same task could now be given to the Core i9-13900KS in the current generation, as soon as AMD launches the Ryzen 7000 processors with the enlarged cache as well.

The Raptor Lake processors are fully compatible with all socket 1700 motherboards with a 600 chipset. Compared to its predecessor, the new Z790 socket offers eight additional PCIe Gen4 lanes, with the chipset itself now being connected to the CPU with DMI Gen 4.0. In addition, the chipset can provide more USB 3.2 ports with fast 20 Gbps.

CPU-Cooling

Crucial deliberately does without a heat spreader in the value memory bars. The PCBs appear in chic black. The Samsung OEM SSD PM9A1 is made entirely of semiconductor components and uses NAND flash memory, which has high reliability and advanced technology in a small form factor. The launch of Windows 10 and the associated developments are among the most important market launches in Microsoft's corporate history. Windows 10 not only brings a new version of the operating system onto the market, Windows 10 enables a new platform generation:
 
"We want to ensure that we offer developers the largest and most vibrant user base for their applications," said Satya Nadella in his opening keynote at BUILD 2015 in San Francisco. Windows 10 is now available in 190 countries and 111 languages.

The browser is really new in Windows 10: Edge replaces Internet Explorer. The new browser doesn't just have the cooler name. It is also much faster. In almost all browser benchmarks, Edge depends on IE 11 from Windows 8.1. It can almost double its pace in Mozilla's Kraken benchmark. It looks the same in Google's Octane 2.0 test. Its pace remains roughly the same in the Sunspider test and the Peacekeeper benchmark. Conclusion: When it comes to the browser speed, Windows 10 with Edge catches up a lot. In Kraken and Octane, Edge overtakes the competition, in the Sunspider he stays ahead. The old conditions are only preserved in the Peacekeeper test.

Windows start

Microsoft already shortened the start times of Windows extremely with Windows 8. If the computer is switched off using "Shut down", it does not switch itself off, but only goes into hibernation - from which it can wake up more quickly. Even with a real Katlstart or restart, Windows 8.1 is slightly slower: However, over time, Windows remembers the files that it needs for the start: The start time is shortened with repeated starts. After ten starts, the two operating systems were almost on par with 20 seconds (Windows 10) and 22 seconds (Windows 8.1).

System performance

Windows is actually getting faster and faster the older it gets: For most components, manufacturers are releasing ever more up-to-date drivers that accelerate the hardware. Windows feels like it is getting slower and slower: This is mostly due to the fact that the autostart folder is filling up with more and more entries, more and more tools are running in the background and more and more programs that are no longer used are littering the memory. The performance tests show hardly any difference between Windows 8.1 and Windows 10. Sometimes one system is faster, sometimes the other. But all the results are so closely related - with less than three percent difference - that no difference is noticeable in practice. This also applies to tests such as Cinebench R15, which primarily check the processor performance. Even if we repeated the tests several times, nothing changed: When saving and buffering frequently used files, nothing seems to have changed between Windows 8.1 and 10. Conclusion: When it comes to hardware performance, Windows 10 is as fast as Windows 8.1 - or vice versa. So that Windows 10 stays fast, the same rules apply as always with Windows: Install the latest drivers and keep the system clean.

3D performance

Windows 10 comes with the new Direct X12 3D interface. DX12 is designed to allow game programmers to use the capabilities of the GPU more efficiently. Computers with less powerful graphics cards can also benefit from this and display graphically complex games more smoothly. At the moment, the potential of DX12 can only be demonstrated using synthetic benchmarks such as the API overhead test. Conclusion: Windows 10 has the potential to accelerate games on weaker systems thanks to the DX12. But the concrete results will only show games that use DX12. The first should appear at the end of the year.

Windows 10 lays a good foundation: the hardware manufacturers have to use this to tease out a performance plus with improved drivers. Or in the case of Direct X12 game programmers who use the capabilities of the new interface in games.
