The InWin 309 combines an extensive functionality with an original aesthetic. Particularly striking is the front with the RGB LED matrix of 144 LEDs. In addition to numerous pre-set lighting modes, the LEDs can also be configured individually. Brightness and color can be adjusted with InWin's GLOW software. In addition, a microphone is installed in the upper edge of the front cover to synchronize the lighting with the music played in the room.

The InWin 309 convinces with a clear design vocabulary. The sleek design of the Midi Tower is dominated by smooth exterior surfaces, so the focus is on the LED matrix. One should not take a cursory look at the technical data of the new Rocket Lake-S processors. Despite the 14nm manufacturing process, a lot has happened under the heatspreader. Comet Lake-S shows that Intel is still squeezing a lot of potential out of the silicon with the new architecture.
The old Skylake architecture has now had its day and will be replaced by Sunny Cove, but the performance of the new Intel generation is still remarkable. Microsoft already shortened the start times of Windows extremely with Windows 8. Even if we repeated the tests several times, nothing changed: When saving and buffering frequently used files, nothing seems to have changed between Windows 8.1 and 10. Conclusion: When it comes to hardware performance, Windows 10 is as fast as Windows 8.1 - or vice versa. So that Windows 10 stays fast, the same rules apply as always with Windows: Install the latest drivers and keep the system clean.
Windows 10 comes with the new Direct X12 3D interface. DX12 is designed to allow game programmers to use the capabilities of the GPU more efficiently. Computers with less powerful graphics cards can also benefit from this and display graphically complex games more smoothly. At the moment, the potential of DX12 can only be demonstrated using synthetic benchmarks such as the API overhead test. Conclusion: Windows 10 has the potential to accelerate games on weaker systems thanks to the DX12. But the concrete results will only show games that use DX12. The first should appear at the end of the year.

I do not like the case at all though for the following reasons:
*Opening the top panel is really difficult - it took me about 30 minutes to get one of the buttons to unlock.
*For a High end pc a non-moterised front panel for where you place the CD's is awful. It also makes the most horrible noise when you are opening it and doesn't always stay down.
*Overall the case operates, looks & feels a bit cheap.
The command Centre and SoundBlaster software was also not loaded onto the system when it arrived though customer support provided the links very quickly and efficiently.
I cannot stress though how excellent the service and support is!
