The two largest credit card companies worldwide – Visa and MasterCard – have introduced a procedure under two different labels/brands which is based on the so-called 3-D-Secure-Protocol.
This method is based/built on a PIN-based authentication. For this version the card holder only once registers with the card issuing bank. Then the card holder is given a PIN to use for transactions via the Internet. If an Internet trader/dealer supports this version, the customer has to enter his PIN during the payment process (in a browser window) which is verified online. In the best case the process of paying is completed and payment is guaranteed.

With the Maestro logo on your card, you can use the money in your account securely through a global network of ATMs, shops and websites to pay for things.

It also means you’ll always have exactly the right amount to pay, at exactly the right time, wherever you are - from your local supermarket to a petrol station across the border - in fact, in over 13m locations around the world in 100 countries.

And because it’s a debit facility, you can never spend more with your Maestro card than you have in your bank account.

How to use it:

1. Enter the card number, your details and security code (if your card has one).
2. Put in your unique SecureCode, which is either your unique password or generated using the authentication device given to you by your bank.

For our Austrian customers our partner bank Santander offers you the possibility of payment by instalments. This way you can buy your PC today and pay it off in monthly instalments. The total merchandise has to be at least € 550,- incl. VAT. Usually an advance payment is not necessary. The financing scheme is available/possible for a period of 12 to 60 months.

General acceptance criteria:

• Age: at least 18 years
• Permanent residence in Austria
• An official identification document with a photo
• An Austrian bank account
• An unlimited work/employment contract (since at least 3 months)
• A limited work/employment contract within the credit period
• income of at least € 1000 (otherwise security is needed)
