A brief outlook on Kingdom Come: Deliverance II
As gamers who loved the first Kingdom Come: Deliverance, you know that there were still many unanswered questions at the end of Henry's journey. The story about the stolen family sword was not yet concluded, the political intrigues of Bohemia continued to simmer, and King Wenceslas was still in captivity.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance II picks up on this exciting cliffhanger. Henry of Skalitz, our beloved blacksmith's son, is no longer a complete nobody but is still far from being a shining hero. He has learned to fight, sneak, and survive, but the world around him has become even more dangerous and complex.
The story begins with Henry and his (now somewhat more mature, but still often clumsy) companion and friend, Sir Hans Capon, on an important mission. They travel to the region around Trosky, far from the safety of their familiar territories, to deliver messages and gain support for the imprisoned King Wenceslas in the fight against his tyrannical half-brother Sigismund.
But of course, nothing goes smoothly in medieval Bohemia. No sooner have they arrived than they are ambushed by bandits, narrowly escape, and soon find themselves caught in a whirlwind of political entanglements, personal feuds, and the ongoing civil war.
The journey takes Henry to new, vast areas, including the impressive and historically detailed city of Kuttenberg (Kutná Hora), which was one of the most important and wealthiest cities in the kingdom at the time, famous for its silver mines. The beautiful but dangerous Bohemian Paradise also awaits exploration.
